A’Lana is a talented
Choreographer,
costumer, and belly dance instructor.
A’lana will be teaching costuming
and turban wraps for tribal and cabaret style dancers. Bring
veils and scarves. $10/adv $15/door 9:30

A’Lana teaches
belly dance classes in Moorpark and Simi Valley. She is a versatile dancer who incorporates the balancing of a
variety of props to entertain her audience.
Bring a tray, cane, sword or candelabra to this workshop. $10/adv. $15/door 11:30

K’Feerah has
mastered the art of dancing with double veils. Bring two veils. These
are the traditional 45” x three-yard veils.
Veils will also be available to purchase in class. $10/adv. $15/door 10:30

Nessim is
the founder of the Scimitar band. She
plays dumbec (middle eastern drum) and teaches belly dance classes in Simi Valley and Moorpark. Nessim is a very talented musician. When she plays her zills, everybody listens.
She will share her expertise with you in this finger-cymbal workshop.

Anaheed has
been performing and teaching for many years and is the director of the
Perfumes of Araby troupe. She
is a master of improvisational choreography and will share her tips
for transforming simple steps into a dynamic performance. This workshop will focus on transitions –
transitions from one song to another or one part of a dance to another
– transitions when you aren’t sure what is coming next – and transitions
from one mood to another. Check

Harrison), Phaedra (Margaret Hernandez), K’Feerah (Karen Hieger), Shanell

Central
Coast MECDA (Middle Eastern Culture and Dance Association)
Central Coast MECDA continues the MECDA tradition
of offering communication, education, inspiration, and fun for its members, as
well as supporting local programs to end domestic violence. If you live in San Luis Obispo County,
Santa Barbara County, Ventura County or Northern Los Angeles County, this
chapter is for you.
Central Coast Chapter President is Natasya
Katsikaris. Natasya dances regularly
at Ventura’s Greek at the Harbor restaurant, and teaches Belly Dance at Fusion
Studios in Moorpark. Daniel Eshoo is
Treasurer. Daniel is a semi-professional musician, vocalist, and teacher of
Near Eastern music. Jewels of the Nile
troupe director, Linda Erland, is vice-president. Jewels of the Nile troupe member, K’Feerah (aka Karen Hieger) is
Secretary.
